Diablo 4: Season 2 will start in October

Blizzard unexpectedly announced today the next season of Diablo 4 - Season of Blood. The new update brings additional content, seasonal storyline, and balance changes to the action RPG, as well as an announcement trailer and release date.

Diablo 4's next season will have a new end boss and status effect update

During Gamescom 2023 Opening Night Live, the next season of Diablo 4, Season of Blood, was announced. Beginning October 17, in Sanctuary, players will battle an ever-growing number of vampire enemies while using their powers against them.

This season, Ellie the Vampire Slayer, voiced by actress and producer Gemma Chan, will help you fight the vampire menace and build the strength to fight it.

In addition to new seasonal quests, for players to explore, five new end-game bosses have been added to the game to enrich destination farming for unique and epic loot. This season will also see the quality of life improvements fans have requested. This includes gem inventory overhauls and changes to status effects such as vulnerability, overwhelm, critical hit damage, elemental resistance, reputation bonuses, and more.

Paragon Points, Skill Points, Potion Recharges, and Ovol Capacity upgrades earned with Eternal or previous Season Realm characters from Season 2 will carry over to the new Season.

More details will be announced as the release date approaches. That said, these changes have been welcomed by the community, especially when it comes to resistance and maneuvering, and have begun to address some of the concerns and frustrations players have had with the game lately.

For now, players can enjoy the current season of Villains and make the most of the battle pass and season content before they disappear.
