DIablo 4: Fans are looking forward to its launch on Steam

Diablo 4 debuted on the store earlier this week to a warm reception from Steam players, with fans expressing their displeasure at Activision Blizzard's treatment of the game and its player base just months after its release.

For triple-A games that have had issues with fans since launch, it should come as no surprise that the game was treated harshly by fans on Steam when the game finally made it to Steam. This is similar to what happened when Overwatch 2 first launched on Steam a few months ago. Even though Diablo 4 received positive reviews from fans and critics when it first launched earlier this year, it doesn't matter. What happened between then and now has soured Activision's initial relationship with fans.

Most of the review bombing reviews criticized Activision Blizzard's greedy approach of putting expensive microtransactions and live service elements into a full-priced game. It costs $70, plus you have to buy it for about $10 per season. Additionally, many criticized the game's lack of seasonal content, which was introduced in the transition to Season 2.

There have also been complaints about Diablo 4's end-game content being lacking, and that some of the game's UI elements are confusing, making it difficult to navigate from one menu to another, especially when playing with a gamepad. Some people criticized the practical elements of the game.

Overwatch 2 has never recovered from its initial release on Steam, and considering Activision Blizzard all but abandoned the game, it looks like it never will. But only time will tell if Diablo 4 will go the way of its cousin on Steam, becoming infamous and never to be seen green again.
