Apollyon Endgame Boss Fight – Mechanics, Counters & Pro Tips

Preparation
Before facing Apollyon, ensure your character meets these benchmarks:

Effective HP (EHP): At least 8,000 to survive most attacks.

Resistances: Cap physical, void, and elemental (fire/lightning/ice) resistances at 75%. Consider some "ailment resistance" to mitigate debuffs.

DPS: Aim for 2 million or higher for a smoother fight. Lower DPS (e.g., 500k) is viable but requires precise mechanics.

Mobility: 100% movement speed is ideal. If unattainable, 70% speed + two dashes/blinks works.

Cleanse Effects: While optional, sources of "purge" (e.g., flask modifiers or passive skills) are highly recommended to counter Apollyon’s debilitating debuffs.

Boss Mechanics Overview
Apollyon’s health consists of:

Base HP: 4.66 million (visible red bar).

Shield Phases: At five fixed health thresholds, he gains a shield equal to 75% of his max HP. Factoring in decay, his effective total HP is ~22.17 million.

Note: In-game DPS (e.g., 2 million) is measured against training dummies; actual damage dealt to Apollyon is ~10%, making his effective HP closer to 200 million dummy HP.

Lower-DPS builds benefit from shield decay, reducing total damage needed.

Apollyon has 0% resistances and armor, so your damage isn’t penalized, but his attacks hit extremely hard.

Key Abilities & Counters
1. High-Threat Skills (Prioritize Dodging)
Time-Shattering Smash: Highest damage in the fight (hit + ground DoT). Requires 10k+ EHP to survive.

Triple Flail Combo: Three directional strikes (front, right, left). 6k EHP minimum to tank.

Scorched Earth (after Smash): Leaves a deadly DoT zone. Lure Apollyon to place these near edges.

Oblivion Beam (Phase 5): 10k DPS laser with a long wind-up—always evade.

2. Positioning Control
Apollyon’s movement follows predictable rules:

If you’re <5 units away, he backsteps.

If you’re >5 units away, he charges or uses Flail Dash.

Pro Tip: Keep him in the mid-ring zone of the arena. Avoid the center (laser overlap risk) and edges (harder to dodge Triple Flail).

3. Singularity Skills (Fixed Rotation, 20s Cooldown)
Ice Singularity: Spawns a frost zone that spirals projectiles inward. Avoid the center to prevent rapid hits and chill stacks.

Fire Singularity: Creates pulsing fire zones. Low damage but clears Void Puddles (explained later).

Chaos Blade: A spinning void blade. Easy to dodge; low priority.

4. Arena Hazards (Escalating Difficulty)
Void Puddles:

Every 25s, five void orbs spawn in a "V" pattern toward the player, leaving permanent DoT zones on contact.

Solution: Group puddles together and erase them with Fire Singularity.

Void Lasers:

Fires every 18s from the arena center. After 1s of tracking, it locks direction and persists.

Critical: Each new laser replays all previous locks. Prolonged fights risk full-screen coverage.

Lasers apply Corruption (stacking debuff): -6% damage and -15% leech/regen per stack (multiplicative). Purge these immediately.

Boss Positioning: Maintain mid-ring control to manage lasers and flail attacks.

Dodge Priority: Focus on evading Time-Shattering Smash and Oblivion Beam.

Puddle Management: Cluster Void Puddles for Fire Singularity cleanup.

High-DPS Players (4M+): Can ignore mechanics and burst Apollyon quickly.
